Two ladies taking time out for themselves to enjoy a skin care workshop. It’s set in a beautiful light filled workshop

A Morning of Making: Inside a Whipped Body Butter Workshop

There is something very special about slowing things down and making something with your own hands.

Yesterday's whipped body butter workshop was one of those mornings that reminds me exactly why I do this.

Four women.
All completely different.
All curious, open, and ready to try something new.

What we made

We made a rich, nourishing whipped body butter using simple, natural ingredients:

  • Shea butter for deep nourishment
  • Cocoa butter for structure and skin protection
  • Coconut oil and fractionated coconut oil for softness and glide
  • Jojoba oil to support the skin barrier
  • Vitamin E for antioxidant support

And then came the part that really brings everything to life… the fragrances.

This time we worked with three beautiful blends:

Rhubarb
Fresh, fruity and slightly nostalgic

Rose Geranium
Soft, floral and gently calming

Green Calm
Light, clean and refreshing, with a real spa-like feel

Each one brought something completely different to the experience, and it was lovely to see people drawn to what suited them personally.

The process (and the patience)

If you've ever made whipped body butter, you'll know this part…

We melted.
We blended.
We poured.

And then we waited.

Waiting for butters to cool and thicken is always the moment where time slows down a little. Some people love it. Some people find it a test of patience.

But it's also where the magic starts to happen.

The moment I didn't expect

At the end of the workshop, something lovely happened.

Instead of packing everything away straight away, everyone started using their body butters.

Arms.
Shoulders.
Even rolling up trousers to try it properly.

There was laughter, conversation, and that quiet appreciation when something feels really good on your skin.

It's one thing to make a product.
It's another to actually enjoy it.

Why this matters

Natural skincare doesn't have to be complicated.

When you understand ingredients and how they work together, you can create products that genuinely support your skin without overwhelming it.

And when you make it yourself, there's a different kind of connection to it.
