Sip & Marble — An After-Christmas Candle Evening

January can feel like a long, grey slog after all the Christmas sparkle. So come and treat yourself to a proper pick-me-up: a relaxed evening learning the art of marbling your own fragranced candle, while enjoying Prosecco or sparkling elderflower, chocolate and good company.

This one's a little different from my regular Sip & Make evenings — instead of a single blended pour, you'll learn how to create a beautiful marbled effect, swirling colour through the wax so no two candles turn out quite the same. It's a sociable, hands-on evening designed to feel like a lovely night out, and the perfect antidote to the post-Christmas comedown.

What You'll Make

You'll create your own 220g fragranced marbled candle in a substantial clear 30cl Lotti glass vessel. Your finished candle will weigh just over 500g — a unique, one-of-a-kind piece to enjoy long after the evening is over.

You'll learn how to:

• Prepare and wick your candle glass
• Accurately weigh wax and fragrance
• Blend fragrance into candle wax
• Colour and layer wax to create a marbled effect
• Understand why temperature matters when marbling
• Pour and finish your candle
• Care for and burn your candle safely at home

No previous experience needed. I'll guide you through the marbling technique step by step.

• Clarity — Bright and uplifting. Luminous citrus, warm amber and soft woods.
• Hearth — Warm and comforting. Warm woods, gentle spice and glowing amber.

• A glass or two of Prosecco or Bottle Green Sparkling Elderflower

After Your Workshop

Your freshly poured candle will need time to cool and cure before its first burn. I'll explain how to care for it and let you know when it's ready to light. Once fully hardened, I expect these candles to offer approximately 40 hours of burn time.

Two hours. A one-of-a-kind marbled candle you made yourself. A glass or two of fizz. Chocolate. And a table full of good company. The perfect way to shake off January and start the year feeling good.
